Festival Information Turtle Shell Productions kicks off their sixth annual 8 Minute Madness Playwright Festival, running from February 25th - March 14th. We are looking for two categories of short original works, including 10 minute musicals:

A. Short plays to be performed by adult actors. (This may include a child actor) 

B. Short plays performed by youth (age 9-17) as part of a separate presentation on an alternate night.

We have received many exciting inquiries by both talent and literary agents interested in being part of this year's event. The recipient of the “Best Playwright” award will receive the 8 Minute Madness Playwright Festival Trophy and will be known for eternity as the 8 Minute Madness award-winning playwright.

1.) Plays must be 12 minutes or less in duration. No exceptions! 
Please be aware that ALL plays must be able to be cut to 10 minutes or less.

2.) SUBMISSION FOR PLAYS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TILL MONDAY, JANUARY 19th.

Send or drop off a copy of your play along with the application and a money order or certified check of the $20 application fee to:

Please do not send orignal material. We are unable to return scripts.

(Please note that we do not like to charge for submissions, but this year we must in order to maintain the high quality of presentations for which we are known.)

3.) If your play has been produced or has had a reading we will still accept your submission.

4.) If it has been produced under an "Equity Code" please note it on the application with the dates of production.

5.) The plays should allow for simple staging.

6.) Story lines are open. 10 minute musicals accepted.

7.) Each playwright may submit up to two plays. ( Please note on the application which is your first submission and second.)
